Diana,
You haven't seen these two since they were kittens. They were adopted as Hansel and Gretel but we renamed them Smidge and Smudgeon because one had just a "smidge" and the other just a "smudge" of black on top of their heads, gone now - the black, not the heads.
We now call them He or His and She or Hers. The only way we can tell them apart now without getting too personal is by the "V" shaped "cow-lick" on the bridge of their noses. His is more distinct, hard to see it on She. In case you can't see it in pix, He is on the left and She is on the right.
Robert

As you know, we pulled Carson, a huge and very charming unaltered black male cat from a kill shelter in March 2007. At that time it was discovered that he was FIV positive yet asympomatic.
Carson had managed to charm everyone who crossed his path (except of course for the person who brought him in to the shelter) including the Vet who tested him. Other than his FIV status, Carson was and still is extremely healthy. He was then neutered, vaccinated and put into foster care in a no kill shelter in Houston. For more information about FIV please follow these links:

After nearly a year in foster care, the perfect mom came along and adopted him. Happily ever after stories really do exist. Read below for more happy tails!

Greetings to all my friends!
Yesterday I left the FFL shelter for my forever home with Teresa. Let me share with you my first day. After the ride home, I got to explore most of the house. It is really nice to have all those windows and many rooms to roam through. I'm still getting used to the hard wood floors. Perhaps the best thing I have found - besides there are no DOGS within earshot - is a room Teresa calls the bedroom. There is a huge piece of soft furniture in the middle that is big enough for both of us to sleep comfortably. I can actually sleep all stretched out!
And, would you believe, I have a separate room for my liter box. I don't have to share this room with anyone - it is mine, all mine. So far the food is good - I actually got wet food this morning as well as last night. And, I am told I get only the best water, something called "Brita". In the big room with the couch and chairs, there is a mantel although I haven't perched up there yet.
And, in front of one of the windows is a floor-to-ceiling cat tree. The pole is wrapped with jute so I can stretch my paws and the shelves are carpeted. However, my best perch as of yet is on the computer table behind the monitor. From this space, I can look out a window, dictate letters for Teresa to type and watch all of the living room. Teresa says he has to do the typing because my paws are too big. What does she know about the particulars of paw size?!
Love to all my FFL friends and especially to Diana,
Carson (and Teresa)

Chase is doing great! He is still trying to get settled in to the new surroundings, but he has already bonded with us (he's sitting in my lap right now). The first night he hid in my closet but by the next morning I had waken up with him at my feet, which was a nice surprise.
He is absolutely the sweetest kitten I have ever come across and I am smitten with him. He has now called my bed his "safe place" and loves to be scratched on the nose and belly and he has started purring and attempted to play with me once. I am sure he will be the perfect cat once he stops being scared of the door opening. lol!
Everyone loves him and agrees that he is the cutest thing they've ever seen. I honestly can not believe he is a feral cat. I am sending you a couple of picture of him the day after I adopted him.
I hope everything is going well with you and I will definitely pass on the word of your organization.
