Whiskers, formerly known as Texxie, had been living at a very busy convenience store off of Hwy 59 before an O'Malley volunteer happened upon her at about 2:00 a.m. From that moment forward, our volunteer set out to "trap" Texxie. However, after numerous attempts with a live trap, it was soon discovered that Texxie was very cunning. That explains how she was able to survive for two years in such a high-traffic area! It was also feared that Texxie was soon to have kittens. As can be expected, only one of the kittens from her previous litters had survived the convenience store. Yes, the same volunteer trapped the lone survivor a few months earlier and she was spayed, vaccinated and placed in a home.

In the wee hours on a chilly morning, our volunteer with trap and can of tuna in hand, was determined this was the night Texxie was going to be “saved”. With the help of a handsome stranger who came riding in on a Dodge Dooley, Texxie was soon caught and on her way to a warm home for the first time in over two years! Evidently Texxie thought the gentleman was handsome also (or was it the tuna?) because before she knew it, he had swept her off her feet and placed her in a crate!
Texxie had three adorable kittens about 2-1/2 weeks after being rescued. Lucy, the polka dot kitten was the first kitten to be adopted. The twins, Smudge and Smidge were adopted together by the same wonderful family and believe it or not, Texxie was placed the very same evening with Billie.

Poppy and Cali chase each other around the house. Poppy also likes to sit up on the table with us when we're working on the computer. Cali does that too, but she hasn't done it as much since Poppy is up here, I think she's a little jealous, so I'm trying to give her more attention than usual. 6+++;l6+ - that was a little message from Poppy walking across the keyboard.
I woke up in the middle of the night and Cali was sleeping next to my head as usual, with Poppy sleeping next to me. Just when I thought my arm was going to fall asleep (I was laying on my back and my arm was up around Cali) Poppy came and layed on my arm and cuddled with Cali and started purring! It was so sweet so I had to lay there as long as I could before I moved my arm.
Thanks again for blessing us with such a wonderful family member!

Mrs. Smith had just recently lost her 17-year old kitty and was devastated. Her son set out to help his mother's heart mend by finding her another faithful friend and companion.
Fate was on Dolly's side, as her son saw her picture in a Tyler office and knew she was the one!
Dolly was once a part of a Siamese cat colony of over 100 cats.
When O'malley brought her home we soon found out she was too sweet to release back into the wild.
He was right - it was love at first sight for both Dolly and Mrs. Smith!

I wish I could adopt every kitten, but the one I adopted a little over a year ago is my spoiled brat, and I'm afraid would not understand! Tiki is a joy and I am so thankful to this organization for bringing her into my life. Her, along with her brother, Punkin, are the joys of my life.
Thanks to Diana for her huge heart!!!!!
Kudos to anyone who takes part in this wonderful miracle for our furry friends!

Richie was once a wayward young male living off of Hwy 59 until he met an O'Malley volunteer. From that point forward his life improved considerably. He now shares his "forever home" with his boy, Seth, and his girl, Rachel and a lovely Calico named Ginger.
Although Richie is a very shy and timid, his family says he does pop out and bat at their feet as they are going past him. Evidently Ginger hasn't accepted him into her home, but she is after all, the Queen!
