Atlanta

Atlanta and her sister were dumped at a garbage bin at a local grocery store at about 6 weeks of age. It took two O'Malley volunteers about 45 minutes to convince the lovely Merle tabbies that we were "the good guys". After a thorough check-up at the Vet's office, Atlanta and Sassy were adopted. Here is what one of the owners has to say:

" We have had Atlanta in our lives for about seven months now.  She has brought so much happiness and laughter to us.  I don't know what we would do without her now.  She loves to run around and play with her toys and she also loves to cuddle up next to us and give us kisses.  She is turning out to be such a beautiful and sweet kitty cat."

Biscuit is about a 1 year old brindle, multi-colored sweetie and is spayed and vaccinated.

Biscuit, once left behind by her former college student owner, now adopted by her fosters and their cat! What a lucky kitty Biscuit is to have found such a wonderful family to share her love with.

Bluebell
Bluebell

Bluebell has her new beginning. After being with her foster for a month, Twiggy now gets to share her life with one of our favorite vet assistants, her fiancée and a darling rescued boxer-mix puppy, named Kirby.  What a lucky girl Bluebell is!

Well, I just wanted to keep you posted that everything is going well, and after much deliberation we have decided to re-name her Bluebell (just like the ice cream...Matt's favorite). Anyways, other than the name change, there really isn't any other big news. She is on her last day of her ear medicine, and her ears look great! Kirby and her are still playing together every chance they get, and they are both loving each other. ...Hope to hear from you again soon!!!
Thanks again for the greatest cat in the world!

Angel
Angel

Angel was abandoned off of South Street at about 8 weeks of age. One of our volunteers took her in to the Vet for medical attention where she tested positive for feline leukemia. Instead of immediately putting this lovely kitten down, our generous volunteer decided to pay for a more extensive blood panel ran by Texas A&M. That panel came back negative!

Since kittens can carry antibodies of the feline leukemia and FIV virus from their nursing mothers, it is very important to know that doesn't mean the kittens actually have the virus. In fact, it is rare that the FIV virus is transmitted to kittens in the birth canal or during nursing. At any rate, vets recommend re-testing positive kittens at 6-months of age in order to get a true reading.

Angel was retested a few weeks ago and to her new owner’s relief, Angel was negative for feline leukemia! Since then, her new owner has started Angel and Leela on a series of leukemia vaccines. She’s not going to take a chance that her two girls become infected with that preventable disease.

Daisy and gargoyle

This lovely Siamese mix was found at about 6-weeks of age in a very remote area of woods. The mother and child who found her made sure there were no other abandoned kittens that needed rescuing.

Since that terrible beginning, Daisy has become quite the goddess at her household. As you can see, Daisy believes she can do a better job of warding off evil than the Sentinel with whom she is sharing the brick post!
