This handsome young man was rescued only because two of our volunteers saw him darting out into the middle of the street as a very young kitten. Luckily he ran back up on the sidewalk when he saw the vehicle coming up the street. We hastily exited the van and grabbed a towel. We then managed to corner him in the alcove of a store and threw the towel over him. Tyler was a true feral kitten and took one of our fosters only 3 days to tame him. As you can see, Tyler is a beautiful young man and is such a joy to the family he adopted. “Tyler is a shy, extremely quiet gentleman of a cat and is so sweet and undemanding.”
Fancy Pants was abandoned at a gas station off of Highway 59 South. One of our wonderful volunteers made it her mission to catch Fancy Pants and tend to her. Although Fancy was very frightened at first, she realized we were there to help her. Since then, Fancy Pants has gone to live with an ICU nurse and her dog, Shelby. I had the privilege of visiting with Fancy Pants a few weeks ago and it was so heart warming to see how healthy and happy she was. It was really cute watching Fancy and Shelby play.
Here is what her savior had to say about Fancy shortly after adopting her:
“Fancy Pants is getting along well with us, has fit right into my little family. She now sleeps on my bed, with Shelby on one side of me, with her nose on my right side and Fancy on the left, unless they both get on the end of the bed together! Linda”
Three weeks later, Linda e-mailed this report: “Hi Diana, just to let you know Fancy has gained 2 ˝ pounds in the month I’ve had her and has taken over Shelby’s heart, she is her baby. They act like 2 children running around the house playing and sleeping together. Thanks for bringing such joy into our lives.”
Rascal is one of the 3 kittens featured with BJ that we found at 3-weeks of age at a local fast food restaurant. As you can see, Rascal has a much better home now and his two best buddies are his adorable boy, Matthew, and his 9-year old Shitzu, Brandy. Brandy and Rascal were wrestling and chasing each other around the house during my visit.
Frannie tested positive for feline leukemia. However, the good news is that she has been placed in a wonderful home and will be the Queen of the household. She will get to share her life with a little dog as feline leukemia is not transmittable to dogs or humans, only other cats.
Ann Moore rescued this 12-week old Siamese in the pouring down rain a few weeks ago. She was extremely ill with an upper respiratory and had not eaten well for awhile. Our guess is that she would not have survived another week without help.
After a lot of TLC and medical attention, Frannie is doing fabulously. She now eats an entire can of Science Diet AD per setting and her upper respiratory is nearly cleared up. Best of all, she has a wonderful home to share with her human and doggy!
Bonnie, the 6-week old flame point Siamese mix was rescued on August 31st in the pouring down rain in the middle of nowhere. The great news is that Bonnie has been adopted by one of the vets and his wife that are so instrumental in helping our organization with the feral and abandoned cats! What better home could Bonnie have possibly been placed in!
