Hi there!
Well...the girls turned 1 year at Christmas - and Bruce and I thought you would like to see how big they've gotten. They play very hard together sometimes running through the house at super-sonic speeds! So when they sleep - they sleep hard too! Their personalities are still the same...Chili would rather be sleeping...and Pepper (with the black spot on her nose) would rather be seeing what she can climb next... : /
When we come home at night - I shout a little "where are the babies?" ...and here they come running...
Thank you. It's 24/7 lint rolling tape...and poop scooping. They're in charge - clearly!

Hemi, formerly known as Monster Child, was rescued by a woman and 15 year old young man who is currently fighting a brain tumor at M. D. Anderson. Even though this mom and son are going through an unimaginable diffucult time, they could not bear the thought of leaving Hemi behind to fend for himself.
Evidently Hemi strayed up to their rent home some time ago. When they were forced to move because of the expensive treatment, they made sure Hemi found a temporary home with K-9 Kennels.

After being boarded for a month-and-a-half, a very friendly family learned about his story and immediately went out to visit. It was love at first sight. After all who couldn't resist a 14 pounder that doesn't meet a stranger, whether it be two or four legged.
As we expected, Hemi fit right into their family of four children, two dogs and a cat. It didn't take Hemi long to realize that his life was once again great. However, it's now even better, because he has a new best friend that was also rescued off the street.
As you can in the attached picture, Hemi and Charger are inseparable and best of buddies. Believe it or not, this picture was actually taken the very first night that Charger was rescued. Needless to say, Hemi and his family have decided to keep Charger as their very own!
Please keep the young man and his mother in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Pixie is doing so well. She is such a mommy's girl. She is such a lap cat! It is so funny, but in the last few months she has decided to be such an extrovert. When people come over, she thinks they come to see her. I had a repair man from Sears come about 2 weeks ago come over to fix my dryer and she would not leave him alone. She was standing on the chair on her hind legs batting at him trying to make him pet her! Before, she was kind of prissy and really didn't want "strangers" messing with her. She has been the best cat. I love her so much. We were so lucky to have found her. She is SO beautiful. Thanks for checking on her. Our family wouldn't be the same without her.

Kelly adopted Sweetie, a kitty that was dumped out in heat, and who fortunately wandered up to one of our adopter's homes. They fed her on the porch but worried sick about her because they travel quite a bit (taking their other two cats with them).

At any rate, with the adopters help, we spayed and vaccinated Sweetie and they fostered her. Kelly was looking for a black kitty as a playmate for her little male kitty. Sweetie just wasn't that kitty. She was so frightened that she immediately went under the bed and stayed there coming out only at night when everyone was asleep.
Kelly, still seeking a friend for her male kitty, adopted Capt. Jack, a little black bottlefed kitty and he and her kitty are best of buds. As you can see from Kelly's email, Sweetie is also starting to become part of the family. It took Sweetie 6 months to become comfortable with her new home! Needless to say, patience is definitely a virtue when dealing with frightened kitties.

Hi Diana!
Just wanted to let you know that Sweetie finally came out from under the bed. She now roams around with the other cats and dogs. Her personality is starting to come out and she is becoming more playful. I have three beds and each kitty has her own where they all sleep together.
